All Glories to Sri Hari, Guru and Vaishnabs.
Please accept my pranams. Hope all is well with you. Today is Sivaratri - auspicious day. In Vedic culture all are worshiping Lord Siva. We are all Vaishnabs according Goudiya line worshiping him as a devotee of Lord Krishna. Siva is the greatest Vaishnab. Same like Vishnu among the demigods, Ganga among the rivers, Bhagabat Mahapuran among the Puranas.
nimna-gānāḿ yathā gańgā devānām acyuto yathā
vaiṣṇavānāḿ yathā śambhuḥ purāṇānām idam tathā
(Srimad Bhagabatam 12.13.16)Lord Siva is always performing penance for the benefit of the universe. In the Puranas story is there that once demigods and demons together churned the milk ocean to get nectar. But first of all the poison came out. By the power of Poison all living beings including demigods and demons suffered heavily. They prayed to Lord Siva for their lives. Siva drunk the poison to save the Universe. By the influence of poison His throat became blue. His name is called therefore Nilakantha. But the poison did not harm Siva. That time, when Siva was drinking the poison, some poison leaked from His hand, which is the poison we see in snake, scorpio and some plants. Some people use it as drugs. Full story is written in Srimad Bhagabatam. In vedic calender every day there is some special history and also worship is there. It is coming from ancient time. There are many many instructions there. Who has faith to the Creator and Controller they can enjoy this real life.

Some days I was busy with preaching in Orissa so I could not write any topic. I came to Mayapur. Gurudev is now in Puri. He is Ok as before.
